Testing:
A) Temperature Gauge:

deflects into red field, transmitter is defective.
If needle does not deflect, fault is in supply
line or instrument cluster.

B) Indicator Lamp:
1. Pull off small plug on transmitter and connect
to ground. Turn on ignition briefly. The indicator
lamp in instrument cluster must come on. If not,
fault is in supply line or bulb is burnt.
2. Remove transmitter and place in water heated
to 115 ... 121°C (239 ... 250°F), and measure
resistance at small plug with an ohmmeter. If
there is no resistance, transmitter is defective.
